FilmyFly Review
Chapter 1 had the unenviable task of following a cultural phenomenon, and it meets it by going deeper rather than bigger — into the folklore, the rituals, and the land disputes that gave the original its soul. Rishab Shetty’s commitment is total: the physicality, the spiritual intensity, the rootedness. The mythological stretches are staged with genuine awe, and the film’s environmental and faith themes land harder with the expanded canvas. It may not have the shock-of-the-new the original enjoyed, but as myth-making it is the richer film.
